Herb Effects
The fruit is used as a demulcent, diuretic, antiseptic and aphrodisiac. antibilious (root); alleviates spasms (fruit); kills certain larvae and diuretic (plant).
Active Ingredients
Pedalitin, pedalin, dinatin and diosmetin (leaf); phenolic acid (leaf and fruit).
Medicinal Use
For external ulcers (leaf); in incontinence of urine, spermatorrhoea, nocturnal emission, impotence, alleviating spasms (fruit) in gonorrhoea and dysuria (stem and leaves infusion).
Dosage
Infusion: 1 in 20, is taken three times daily.
Fluid extract: 10 to 30 drops.
